I get it. I know what it’s like to feel overlooked, undervalued, and stuck in a role where you’re doing great work, but the recognition and rewards just aren’t coming. For years, I felt like the behind-the-scenes person—always delivering results, but never quite getting the credit or the seat at the table I deserved.
I also know what it’s like to struggle with tough conversations. I used to dread giving negative feedback – not because I was afraid…I’m a rather bold person by nature. But because I didn’t want to be seen as aggressive. I worried SO much about what my team thought about me. And I was deeply self-conscious because despite these fears, I did speak up and was often called a “ball buster” or “very tough.”
But over time, I transformed how I saw myself. I am in fact VERY kind and that kindness was reflected in my ability to have hard conversations.Â
